Mechanical Lead Engineer

We are looking for motivated Mechanical or Automotive Engineers with a deep understanding of development and engineering of sub-systems, system integration and product development within the automotive industry.

What you do on a daily basis

• Work in an (international) team of multidisciplinary engineers
• Translate functional requirements into practical solutions and have the responsibility for systems- and component development aspects within the project
• You work closely with suppliers, external contractors and sister companies customers
• You prepare drawings, specifications and project documentation
• You are able to coach junior and medior Engineers

What do you bring

• A Bachelor degree in Mechanical- or Automotive Engineering;
• You are a skilled user of modern 3D CAD systems (preferably Creo) and Engineering methods;
• Have relevant working experience in an automotive or related industry
• You have a creative mind and strong analytical skills;
• You are a teamplayer with good people and communication skills;
• You are fluent both written and verbal in English. Knowledge of Dutch and/or German is a big advantage

In the role of Lead Engineer you will define the complexity and amount of work and you will divide the work between the team members, give clear instructions and have a coaching role. You will have close contact with the Project Manager to assist in technical decisions and advise so the Project Manager has a clear view on the status and actions that has to be taken. The team participates in several projects for electric drivetrains, body and chassis functions for automotive applications. As a Lead engineer you are at the basis of the E-architecture for these projects. You will be active in selection of components (inverters, cables, connectors), definition of high voltage and high power cables and distribution boxes (up to 600 voltage), fuses and safety components, define guidelines for component integration with EMC and signal integrity in mind and support proto type building. The department is involved from an early concept phase up to commissioning at customer side. #LI-EA1
