 As a software engineer at VDL there are many paths available to you. Because of the diversity of our companies and markets, we have opportunities for software engineers, system engineers, lead engineers and software architects. These include positions in the fields of industrial automation (e.g. PLC operating systems from Siemens, Rockwell), where the focus is on machine and robot control, and high-tech machine building, where the work lies in the area of embedded software in languages such as C+, C++ and C# for the development and optimization of motion control and machine control of our systems for the semiconductor industry. 

We are also a European market leader in the field of electric public transport buses, and we not only produce the buses but also – as a system supplier – provide the customer with charging infrastructure, installation and project management. We intend to further expand our position in the electrification of heavy-duty vehicles (e-truck, automated guided vehicles). The focus there lies on autonomous driving and connectivity, and we use software systems such as Linux and MATLAB/Simulink for purposes such as advanced motion control, optimization and energy modelling.
