Having a competitive pay and benefits package is important, of course it is, but what makes VDL a great company to work for are the people and the friendly atmosphere. We organise numerous activities in which you, as a VDL colleague, can take part:
Every year, VDL organises a staff party for all VDL employees and a plus one. A night full of spectacular performances by high-profile artists and various acts, enjoyed over a nice bite to eat and a drink.
Every year, in spring, we
organise the Piet van der Leegte soccer tournament in Hapert. This tournament
is named after Wim van der Leegte’s brother. Teams from various VDL companies,
as well as combined teams, battle for the big cup.
In winter, when it is too
cold to play soccer outside, we organise an indoor edition of the soccer tournament.
As you would expect, the
various staff associations at the VDL companies organise a range of activities
every year, such as a day to the
Efteling theme park, a barbecue, a
bowling night, and a boat tour. And then there are also the summer holiday and
pre-Christmas drinks. All these activities are organised by each company
individually as they see fit.
Every year, enthusiastic
young employees organise the Young VDL Employee (YVE) event, especially for
young professionals aged up to 35 who want to pursue personal and professional
development at VDL. The event also doubles as a networking event where young
professionals exchange knowledge and experiences with colleagues from within
and outside the company. With an innovative programme and a different location
every year, this event never ceases to surprise.
In the month of June every
year, motorcycle enthusiasts can really indulge themselves for a weekend. In a
small group, they take to their motorcycles for a ride through Germany’s scenic
Eifel region. A weekend full of fun, with sometimes challenging weather
conditions, where that cold beer after the first day of riding is always one of
the highlights of the trip.
