This privacy policy applies to all personal data provided by visitors to the websites of VDL Groep B.V. and its subsidiaries. For the sake of transparency, we have described in this privacy policy what we do with these data.
Types of personal data
We collect your data from the moment you enter or leave your details on our website, or otherwise register or are registered to use our services.
(Business) data
The personal data processed by VDL Groep through the website relate to your contact details such as a name, telephone number and e-mail address, a query you enter, or a question you ask in the input form.
We would like to point out to you that even if you visit the website as a business customer, we consider these data to be (indirect) personal data and therefore guarantee your privacy.
Purpose for processing (business) personal data
Data you provide to VDL Groep via the website are processed by us for general business purposes such as providing information on certain products and services. We can then use the stored personal data to contact you. Your data may also be used for sending digital newsletters, provided you have given your explicit consent.
Information for applicants
This website is intended as an application channel where vacancies are displayed. Through the website, we process uploaded resumes and cover letters.
You can also search for vacancies via the functions 'Vacancies, Working at VDL, Internship & Graduation, Working & Learning and Contact' and these searches can also be stored and linked to, for example, your IP address and click behavior, as well as the information a website visitor uploads or fills in on the website. We often extract this information directly from your visit with so-called cookies. More information on this can be found in the cookie statement.
Our processing activities in any case include the transmission of personal data within VDL Groep. The data you provide as an applicant may be shared with other VDL companies. The data we receive are not shared with external parties.
Our website contains buttons in several places that provide access to social media channels. If you use these social media buttons, the privacy statement of the relevant social media applies and they store your personal data further. VDL has no influence on, and assumes no responsibility for, the use of social media buttons on the VDL website.
Period of retention of job application data
VDL Groep does not retain your data longer than strictly necessary. For personal data (CV, work experience, education etc.) that we receive, we apply a retention period of 24 months after the last meaningful contact if you have not worked for VDL Groep. By meaningful contact we mean, for example, communication between us (either verbal or written) or situations in which you actively participate in our (online) services. We consider a contact meaningful when you submit your updated resume via our website, for example, or when you participate in one of our activities. Also when you communicate with us about possible positions, verbally or in writing, or when you click through on one of our marketing messages.
We keep your data for 24 months, during which time we can contact you for possible other job opportunities or for events organized by VDL Group. After 21 months, we will ask you for your permission to keep the data for another 24 months. If you no longer wish to be contacted, you can unsubscribe at any time. You can do this by sending an e-mail to recruitment@vdl.nl. Your data will then be permanently deleted.
Research purposes
VDL may also retain anonymized data for statistical and research purposes whereby we contact the registered candidate every 24 months.
Provision of your data
Should your application be successful, VDL Groep may process your personal data for your personnel file. If you have provided personal information about third parties, for example people who recommend you, you confirm that they have given you permission to do so.
Security
VDL Groep makes every effort to optimally secure your personal data against unlawful use. We do this by means of physical, organizational and technical measures.
Changes and notifications regarding your privacy
If you have any questions or comments about our processing of your personal data, please contact us at AVG@vdl.nl. We will do our best to assist you. If you wish to respond to this privacy policy or if, in your opinion, VDL Groep is not acting in accordance with this privacy policy, we ask that you contact VDL Groep via AVG@vdl.nl. If we are unable to resolve the situation, you always have the option of submitting a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
