VDL Apparatenbouw is a young organisation and works in small teams on (complex) modules, assemblies and final assemblies. A lot of responsibility lies with the project teams and on the production floor. The company supplies charging stations for the automotive industry, telephone charging posts for festivals and public spaces, 3D printers, machines for the pharmaceutical industry and subsystems for mobile X-ray systems and other medical devices. Because of this variety, practically all disciplines are involved, ranging in parts from plastic injection moulded parts, steel parts, machined parts and various other materials to engines, cabling, electrical parts and complex electronics. There are challenges at all levels within the company, both in the areas of mechatronics and assembly and in prototyping, purchasing, logistics and project and supply chain management.
