Position Overview:

As a Mechanical Engineer in the CropTeq team at VDL ETG Projects, you will play a pivotal role in the development and design of advanced agricultural technology solutions. CropTeq is dedicated to enhancing agricultural efficiency, sustainability, and productivity through the use of innovative machinery and automation systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on projects that contribute to the global food supply chain while collaborating with a team of experts in the field. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize mechanical components and systems for CropTeq projects.
  • Prototyping: Create prototypes and conduct testing to validate and refine designs.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation to support manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Material Selection: Select appropriate materials and processes to ensure the durability and performance of mechanical components.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed design specifications.
  • Project Management: Work closely with project managers to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in agricultural machinery or similar industries.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software; Siemens Teamcenter NX for design and drafting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and quality control procedures.
  • Familiarity with agricultural practices and technologies is a plus.
