Supply Control Engineer
The role
As a Supply Control Engineer at VDL Mobility Innovation Centre you will join the Battery Systems business line, where complete battery systems are assembled. This can range from cell-to-module, module-to-pack, or intermediate variants. These systems are produced on highly complex, fully automated production lines capable of processing multiple variants simultaneously. The equipment is highly automated and covers the fields of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics/electrical engineering, control, and process technology.
In this role, you are responsible for setting up and coordinating the production plan (internal and external), ordering components, administratively managing material flows and organizing transport and goods receipt. Your responsibilities include:
- Serving as the first point of contact for customers regarding planning and delivery of final products: receiving, verifying, and processing customer requests (MPP).
- Creating short- and long-term operational production plans, generating production orders and maintaining close contact with production to monitor progress and realization.
- Running the MRP based on the operational plan, translating this into material requirements (coordinated with the buyer and suppliers) and managing delivery schedules for suppliers.
- Handling full administrative processing in SAP and other business unit systems.
- Coordinating inbound deliveries via transporter planning and being responsible for inventory management of purchased components and finished products.
In addition, you are actively involved in supporting and advising the early phase in the development and improvement of logistics processes (from supplier to production line) and their implementation, including the required assets (e.g. warehouse racking, forklifts).
Your strengths
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in a technical field (preferably in Logistics Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering).
- You bring experience from a complex logistics environment (preferably within the automotive industry), in an engineering role.
- You have strong communication skills in English. Dutch and/or German are optional.
- You have strong analytical capabilities and can translate insights into practical solutions with clear implementation plans.
- You have experience with SAP, preferably SAP S/4Hana (Cloud and specifically the manufacturing, inventory, warehouse and shipping app's).
