Are you a decisive Project Manager with experience in supervising complex projects? Do you like to serve as a link between product developers and the production floor? In this position, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team working on the industrialisation of new products up to the moment of ‘release for volume’.

Project Manager NPI

At VDL ETG Eindhoven, we use state-of-the-art technology to develop and manufacture complex, innovative parts, modules and systems that are at the very edge of what is feasible. We do this for international customers in the semiconductor, analytical and medical industries.

Position:

As Project Manager NPI, you will be responsible for the introduction and industrialisation of new mechatronic modules and/or systems from the development phase to the ‘release for volume’ phase. In this multi-faceted position, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers with a range of specialities (including factory engineers -> factory design, purchasing, manufacturing engineers -> manufacturability, supply chain engineers -> chain design and quality engineers -> First time right/Quality first) who will ensure that the project objectives are achieved.

Department:

The Project Management department is responsible for managing improvement projects and industrialisation projects of new product introductions according to the Product Generation Process (PGP). At the start of the project, the emphasis will be on technical alignment (DfX/ESI) with the product development team of the customer or VDL ETG T&D for the purpose of developing a product that can be manufactured properly (in terms of volume). Due to high time-to-market requirements, production will often already start through concurrent engineering. Parallel to the realisation of the prototypes and pilot products, the production process will also be set up to release volume production in line with the targets set in Statement of Work (SoW). In this process, the Project Manager NPI will assume full responsibility for all technical, financial, logistical and qualitative (QLTC) aspects of the project. Your work will include, among other things:

Ensuring product manufacturability and process/product quality
Providing product improvement proposals
Setting up and safeguarding the VDL ETG production process in accordance with the pre-arranged objectives in the areas of quality, logistics, technology and costs.
Optimising the organisation and safeguarding of the VDL ETG supply chain
Reporting on the progress of the project, both internally to VDL ETG and externally to the customer.
Taking care of the implementation of prototypes and pilot products
Transferring the project to the Customer Programme Team, responsible for the serial production of the products industrialised by NPI.

Your profile:

You have a bachelor level (higher professional education) or university degree in Technical Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline. Other important qualities for fulfilling the position include:
