Mechanical Engineer (form parts and/or tolerances)

Job description

In good cooperation with other internal departments and/or external customers you discuss product requirements and specific needs. You analyse what is needed to complete or reassess the specific part and complete 2D and/or 3D models. Together with colleagues and/or customer you judge your design or rework based on the requirements but also on cost, manufacturability, serviceability and application. When all is looked into you complete the design package, technical calculations and BOM for complete release. During the process you will consult with the client and possible inspection agencies. You can also advise on location during production process to come up with improvements on build and build efficiency. 

Your profile

  • BSc or Master in Mechanics with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field, preferably in the Automotive sector
  • Experience with CAD Creo
  • Experience with design tools such as: DFSS, DFA, DFM, Tolerance studies, FMEA,…
  • Experience with Windchill is an advantage
  • Good knowledge and command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Proactive and team minded attitude

The company

VDL Enabling Transport Solutions is responsible for designing and developing innovative projects from concept up until delivery. Our engineers develop their own, environmental friendly, hard- and software solutions up to testing, analysing and improving, implementation and commissioning. Amongst others we develop electrical transportation (E-mobility), battery technology, charging infrastructure, energy storage, automated guided vehicles (AGV’s) guidance and navigational technology. The products (and therefore your designed parts) will eventually be tangible and visible which gives great satisfaction.
